Fitness freaks
We have both become members of a local fitness club. This extravagance was prompted when we returned from our holiday in London feeling overweight and unfit. We have both lost weight through a combination of regular aerobic exercise and sensible eating. Barrie is one and a half stone lighter and Joan is stress busting.

Literature
Our story has just appeared in Print. We were interviewed about our experience of bringing up Warwick for a new book by John Young called Wrestling with giants. The interview was recorded, transcribed and then written up for the book. The result is interesting--not quite the way we might have recorded it--but we hope people find it useful. It's one chapter in the book which features stories from others who've lived with cancer, depression, fear etc. The book forms the basis of a Lent study course. It's published by Hodders.

Omega?
Our first taste of an Alpha course came this summer when we led a group at St Mike's. An interesting experience and possibly a one off. We were disappointed that no one seemed interested in questioning the course content--preferring to be spoon fed without challenging the issues. Perhaps Alpha is a bit too dogmatic in style.

Belfrey Hall
The church hall has been modernised and Warwick can get into it for the first time in thirteen years. There's a ramp to the side door and facilities for disabled people inside. A real breakthrough.

Christmas 2000
The family will be at home this Christ
mas and New Year. Joan's mum is staying with us too. Phyllis passed her 83rd birthday in October with the now annual family meal.
