Who do you think you are?

Barrie's storytelling project was involved in making short films for the BBC2 series about family history, Who do you think you are?

It's led to some research to find out who our ancestors were. Barrie's dad's family can be traced back to Ambleside (no surprise) and Maryport in Cumbria. His mum's family tree goes back to Giggleswick in Yorkshire. That's where a George Newsholme was born in 1805. Joan's family traces back to Cheltenham and Worcestershire. Between us we have a gardener, a photo agent, miners, cotton mill workers, a policeman, a wig makers apprentice and boatmen in out past.

It's been fascinating finding out about them all-and we've only just started. Click here to view the Entry for Harrison Ware in the 1901 Census. Harrison was my Great Grandfather.
