Scrumping

It’s years since I went climbing trees to reach apples and beat back
the brambles in search of God’s free food.
We’re staying in Wiltshire and this is Joan scrumping in a village
field. The local rector says it’s fine for us to help ourselves. He’s
my brother in law so I guess we’re not breaking any laws.
We returned to the Rectory laden down with blackberries and apples.
Now it’s time bake some pies. O, my other b-i-l has spotted some pears
– he’s off to harvest those too.
