Barrie was at the Riding Lights Summer School again this July. He worked with a theatre director to produce a ground breaking show, Tall Stories, telling personal stories with both digital storytelling and stage play. As people told their stories images were projected onto a gauze, mid stage, while the actors played their parts in front of and behind the images. We think we may have invented a new form of theatre.
A major digital storytelling project came to an end this year. Culture Shock with the Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums gathered about 600 stories in the region and put on a number of shows. The project concluded with a conference to share the ideas and lessons learned with people from all over the country. Barrie’s presentation is on YouTube if you want to watch.
There’s less work around for digistories – but with Restore to fill his time Barrie hasn’t been idle – just broke.
