As the Bible wisely says, the tweet shall inherit the earth | Victoria Coren | Comment is free | The Observer – The Archbishop of York Finds his ne Director of Communications through Twitter. The Rest of the church needs to take social networking more seriously. Today my brother suggested that congregations could Tweet questions to the preacher to be displayed on a screen and answered at the end of the sermon. It would make it all more interactive and also more accountable.

Offering a welcome for all: church accessibility guidance updated | Church of England – The issue of accessibility in church buildings was highlighted for us on Easter Sunday morning. Three wheelchair users and their friends attempted to squeeze into the single pew space created in our church building. The building may be accessible but is it useable for people with mobility problems?. Access to a building that is stacked full of fixed pews and narrow aisles isn't much use to people like my 35 year old son who require flexible spaces to enjoy many activities. Apparently there would be a full scale battle with conservation groups if an application was made to change the Victorian interior to the the building.
Perhaps this new guide from the Church of England will help them to take up the cause on behalf of those who are unable to do it for themselves.

All the same it's led me to this loose coalition of blogs which have become important voices in this period of transition in both financial systems and international media outlets. Especially as these publications had full access to the G20 press events standing alongside the big players with access to the 20 heads of state who are G20.

Missing chef refused taxi money – The mystery of the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence as she walked to work in York. She's not been seen or heard for a week now – someone knows where she is.
Gospels returning on temporary basis (From The Northern Echo) – I think there would be something special about seeing the Lindisfarne Gospels at Durham Cathedral or even better – at the ruins of the Priory on Lindisfarne. I'd certainly make the trip.
